Parrots and other Birds
This project contains Drawings and Pictures I have drawn on the computer.
Mainly my work is focused in this project on Parrots, with a focus on species, which are critical endangered, on the border to extinct or extinct.
The gallery is dedicated to species who are not popular but endangered.
Spix Ara - Cyanopsitta spixii - Spix's Macaw
The spix Ara is extinct in the wild, only a small population survived in captivity until now. Main threads, and in case of the Spix Ara also cause for extinction in wild, was reduction and fragmentation of natural habitats, food resources and poaching. Since the movie Rio, an animation film, where this species played a main role, the species has a certain publicity.

Uhu - Bubo Bubo - Eurasian eagle-owl
The Eurasian eagle owl (in german called Uhu), is the largest owl species. In contrast to most other species in this gallery he is currently not listid as endangered. It was just a drawing out of a impression at a falconer, which insprired me to draw this picture. On the other hand the Uhu is for me a symbol, that we also need to keep eyes our direct environment, and take care of these and other wonderful bird species.

Diademlori - Eos Histrio - Red-and-blue lory
In November 2013 over 100 red and bule lorys were confiscated at a smuggler.
As the primary flight feathers were removed by the smugglers the surviving birds were located to Tasikoki http://www.tasikoki.org/ for rehabilitation.
Maybe this drawings helps to focus your attention to this beautifull and interesting species, and also on status of many other endangered parrot and bird species.
Although this Species is CITES I listed, and the international trade is banned, they are still poached and smuggled.
